Our 2023 Juror - Carol Stock Wasson
Carol Strock Wasson is a signature member of American Women Artists and a Master Pastelist member of Chicago Pastel Painters. In 2019 she achieved Master Circle status with IAPS (International Association of Pastel Societies) and in 2022 became a Master at Pastel Society of America.
Carol focuses on painting with spontaneity and freshness. Though she is known mainly for her work in pastel. She also works in oil, monotype prints and watercolor. Her work encompasses the genre of the rural area she lives in, focusing on color, shape, and design in the plein air tradition as well as in the studio.
She has been a featured artist in Plein Air Magazine, Outdoor Painter, and Pastel Journal.
Bluff Strokes paint out HOME base - Steeple Square
A Dubuque icon since 1867, the former home of St. Mary’s Parish is being restored as a community and event center. Steeple and stained glass windows restoration are in progress. The former church, now the Steeple Square Community Event Center, will be home base for Bluff Strokes.
