The original US flag was stitched by hand. Join us to mark the last month of the 250th year as we hand stitch a flag in 2026.  All stitchers, gathering for the love of art and the ideal of unity, will work on the same flag.  You will be stitching flag colors on white fabric. Rows, fields, and stars will be stitched using traditional colors, but stitchers can choose what stitch or positive pattern/image they will stitch into those sections.

If you're new to stitching, you can do a little sampler section practicing your stitches or perhaps outline a shape using a stem or chain stitch. We invite you to this inclusive event where we will talk about art, stitching, and all sorts of positive connections we share while stitching together.

The Art Center will provide materials and tools unless you wish to bring your own tools. The project will start on December 1 from 3:15-5:15 at the Art Center.  We will continue stitching into 2027 until we fill in the flag.

If your group would like to stitch at a different time in the next few months, be in touch. We might be able to set up an opportunity!
