Jessie Rebik
Rebik explores painting as a visual language within Western art. Beginning with the rise of oil painting and its connection to realism and pictorial representation, Rebik follows how artists across movements have approached the relationship between representation, surface, emotion, and meaning. She also examines the material, physical, and expressive qualities of paint itself.
